This limited edition screen print features 9 individually printed layers from photographs and drawings related to the infamous Live, Laugh, Love saying. I was invited by Inky Fingers, alongside 29 other artists to reflect, reappropriate and repurpose this iconic 3 worded cliché.

The show opens on the 12th of October 2024 at the Inky Fingers Gallery in Hackney Wick.

Its unique Brutalist architecture was built amongst the Barbican Estate to create an intentionally recognised performing arts venue. Taking over a decade to build it was officially opened in 1982.

These multi layered screen prints are part of a series of 9 unique prints based on the Brixton Riots. They bury layers of colour and graphics taken from the area's architecture, facts surrounding the riots and disturbing imagery from the media.

The majority of these prints were created on Helen's Masters degree and were the start of exploring the city. She worked on board, canvas and paper.

Last year Crossrail discovered remains from the famous Bedlam Hospital underneath Liverpool Street Station.

This hand pulled screen print represents some of the dreadful reasons why staff were dismissed from working there in the 16th Century. The mental health hospital originally founded in 1247 now the Bethlem Royal is currently at it's forth site in south London. This limited screen print was originally researched and created for an exhibition at the Olympic park associated with Crossrail, I found it thoroughly interesting digging into the history of the famous hospital.

Based on the Victorian rules for children that used to hang in the classroom, this typographical limited edition screen print gives us a gentle reminder of how children were expected to behave in the 19th century. Doesn't sound bad!

Rules for adults was created in response this print by asking a group of 5-11 year olds what their rules would in fact be for adults.
